Carnivál in Ecuador
It's Carnivál week in Vilcabamba. It features the usual
festival food, drinks, music and crafty vendors.
But the event everyone highlights is
the drowning of friends and family
in aerosol foam and assault weapons loaded with water.
Es la semana del Carnavál en Vilcabamba.
Cuenta con la habitual comida del festival, bebidas,
música y vendedores artesanales.
Pero el acontecimiento que todo el mundo
destaca es el ahogamiento de amigos y familiares
en espuma de aerosol y armas de asalto cargadas de agua.

Trek to Turtle Mountain
New Years Day, 2022. Expedition II to the slopes
of Turtle Mountain to locate the spring that is
the source of our water.

where we met Floppy and his friends again. I don't care who you are, it's no joy ride when they won't stop walking towards you. |
We were turned back from our quest by a heavily thicketed ravine. But we did see the other side side of the mountain.
